Happy Mother's Day

We are so thankful for the godly mothers God has given!!
What a priceless blessing!
May He continue to bless & sustain them.
This picture was taken after Co-op last Thursday, Carole & I came home to a beautiful sight: Mom, Daniel, & Jaden sitting on a blanket in the front yard, enjoying the gorgeous afternoon. Truly, a servant heart is a beautiful thing to see, is it not -- the laying down of one's life for others, following the example of our dear Saviour.
In her book Be Still My Soul, Elisabeth Elliot has a chapter describing "A Servant Heart."
As His servants, we lay down our desire for a certain quality of life, our insistence that our life must be arranged in a certain way in order to be acceptable. In a word, we deny ourselves... After all, what are we but mere bondservants who have been bought with a price?

...We also accept (with joy...) the menial tasks that come our way...

Besides self-denial, self-effacement, and a willingness to cooperate with God, a true servant puts his or her gifts at the disposal of the Master.

Thanks, Mom, for your love & for all those "menial tasks" you cheerfully do every week for us! :) And thanks for babysitting the kids this week! Just in case anyone out there is wondering... no signs of baby yet, but the duedate was last Wednesday so it'll likely be any day now. (we hope!) Mom offered to take the kids early so that I can get some projects done around the house... very sweet!

Your mom is an example to me for sure, of what I would love to be like when I am older. Our family is so thankful for her godly character and her many services that she does in our church.
We are looking forward to a new baby in church too:) And we hope and pray all goes well during the birth.

Yes, dear Sharon - we are all wondering about your expected bundle of joy! I feel like phoning you all the time to find out if anything is happening, but that certainly won't help you wait patiently for God's perfect timing! You, also, are an example of a wonderful mom to me - a mom in my own stage of life who gives herself tirelessly for her family. We're in prayer that all goes well with the birth - and that the Lord will give you strength to stretch your mommy energy a little further for this new child!

Daniel was a week over due too, wasn't he?

Actually, Daniel was 10 days overdue! So since this baby is only a week over (so far!), I'm not complaining! And though we are very eager to see this little one, these verses are good to remember now & always:

"But as for me,
I trust in You, O LORD;
I say, 'You are my God.'
My times are in Your hand..."
Psalm 31: 14-15
