Ralph & I just got back from a wonderful overnight trip to Algonquin,
celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary (it's next Saturday).
Thanks so much, Mom, for babysitting all 5 kids, despite their colds!

Oops!

Hey, we just realized that somehow, the comment settings had been changed so that none of your comments have been posting. And we must say, we were rather discouraged at the poor response to Monday's exciting news! So thanks, everyone, for the comments -- keep 'em coming! :)

Puppies!!

Mr. & Mrs. V. let us come & enjoy their 5 cute puppies last week!

Don't you love the way puppies pile on top of each other?!

Jaden Smiling!

We enjoyed our time with Sharon's family between services,
sharing the exciting news that Jaden will have a tiny new cousin
early next May, the Lord willing! :)
Pray that all of us who are parents may be faithful to tell "...to the generation to come the praises of the LORD,
and His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.
For He established a testimony in Jacob,
And appointed a law in Israel,
Which He commanded our fathers,
That they should make them known to their children;
That the generation to come might know them,
The children who would be born,
That they may arise and declare them to their children,
That they may set their hope in God,
And not forget the works of God,
But keep His commandments."
Psalm 78:4-7

Co-Op Begins!

It's exciting to have Rachel, Carole, Elsa, & Marcia join us this year! Thanks for coming! We will really miss Wendy & her kids, however -- they are moving farther away for their mission work.

The Grades 3&4 class is learning to draw from Rachel.
Trish is teaching painting to the oldest class, with Rachel's help.

Elsa, Andrew, & Tim are teaching 6 weeks of soccer.
Next Thursday I'll try to get pictures of the other classes. It's
a busy afternoon! :) We are renting a bigger church this year,
St. Bartholomew's United Church in the centre of Brampton.

Morning Dew

"The eternal God is your refuge,
And underneath are the everlasting arms...
Then Israel shall dwell in safety,
The fountain of Jacob alone,
In a land of grain and new wine;
His heavens shall also drop dew.
Happy are you, O Israel!
Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD,
The shield of your help
And the sword of your majesty!"
Deuteronomy 33:27-29

A Baby Brother!!

Mary & her 4 sisters are thrilled have a little brother at last!
Congratulations, Herm & Lisa!! Praise the Lord!
Titus Herman was born yesterday evening at 7:30, at 7 lbs., 6 oz.
We are enjoying having Mary over for a few days...
She's singing to herself now -- feels right at home!

"Paul, a bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ,
according to the faith of God’s elect
and the acknowledgment of the truth
which accords with godliness,
in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie,
promised before time began,
but has in due time manifested His word
through preaching,
which was committed to me according to the commandment of God our Savior;

To Titus, a true son in our common faith:

Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father
and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior."
Titus 1:1-4

Fruit of our Vine

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser...
Abide in Me, and I in you.
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself,
unless it abides in the vine,
neither can you, unless you abide in Me...
I am the vine, you are the branches.
He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit;
for without Me you can do nothing...
By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit;
so you will be My disciples."
John 15:1,4,5,8

The Lord gave us an abundant crop of concord grapes this year...
Here's a sweet bowlful I picked today!

Psalm 22

"I will tell of Your name to My brothers;
in the midst of the congregation I will praise You:
You who fear the LORD, praise Him!
All you offspring of Jacob, glorify Him,
and stand in awe of Him, all you offspring of Israel!
For He has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted,
and He has not hidden His face from Him,
but has heard, when He cried to Him.
From You comes My praise in the great congregation;
My vows I will perform before those who fear Him.
The afflicted shall eat and be satisfied;
those who seek Him shall praise the LORD!
May your hearts live forever!
All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the LORD,
and all the families of the nations shall worship before You.
For kingship belongs to the LORD,
and He rules over the nations."
Psalm 22: 23-28

More Animals :)

The island has a great petting zoo...

Two friendly retired police horses!

Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands!
Serve the LORD with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
Know that the LORD, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Psalm 100:1-3
