J.S. Bach's St. John Passion

Yesterday we watched J.S. Bach's St. John Passion on DVD with English sub-titles. Wow! It's beautiful! Many of the tunes of the choruses are familiar and the main narrative is just John 18 & 19 word-for-word. (If you want to borrow it, let us know...)

"The constitution of a biblical home consists of faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love. Love is not to understood as mere sentiment, but rather self-sacrificing obedience to the Word of God - with a whole heart. This can be quite an elevating and inspiring concept until there are dishes to be done."
My Life For Yours - A Walk Through the Christian Home, pg 35, by D. Wilson.
