It's Your Turn Now!

We hope you are enjoying our blog. But hey, why don't some of you start a blog too? Just as you like to know what's happening here, we like to know what is happening there... :)

Blogging is really easy and it's a great way to keep up with friends and family. You don't need to be computer literate -Sharon does it :)- and you don't need a digital camera (especially with the gifts for writing some of you have). Go to Blogger.com or HomeschoolBlogger.com and follow the steps. (Send me an e-mail and I'll give you some pointers to ensure your privacy online.)

Check out the links to other Blogs down on the left of this page to get motivated.

Baptism of James

Yesterday afternoon, little James received the sign & seal of God's covenant. We celebrated afterwards at Opa & Oma's."For the promise is to you and to your children..."
Acts 2:39

John Bunyan

Read some interesting facts about
"the ‘Pilgrim’ who ‘preaches’ from a grave."

Applesauce Day

Ralph took the day off work to help out, which was great.
We got about 70 quarts of applesauce, from 7 bags of Northen Spies & Paula Reds. Very satisfying!
Thanks Mom, for letting us use your beautiful new kitchen!
And for keeping us all well-fed & cared for! :)
Thanks also for the delicious apple pies!

The kids had fun playing with playdoh & playing outside in the snow -- but they also helped us by washing all the apples. Rachel helped with cutting, too.

Caught in the Act!

After Ladies Bible Study yesterday evening,
these two little boys should have been cosy in their beds,
instead of exploring Opa & Oma's house! (Don't they look guilty?) :)

We've been studying Hebrews and we are now on chapter 8.
"Now this is the main point of the things we are saying:
We have such a High Priest,
who is seated at the right hand of the throne
of the Majesty in the heavens."
Hebrews 8:1
Daniel's newest cousin was there too, with Rachel & her mom;
but (sad to say for us!) little James slept snugly in his carseat the whole evening and was gone before I could get a picture of him.

Tippit's First Snowfall

This is the most snow we've had so far, and the rabbits seem to like it!

Sparkling diamonds & spun silver covering the backyard!

God's covenant with creation after the Flood:
" 'While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
And cold and heat,
And winter and summer,
And day and night shall not cease.' "
Genesis 8:22

Daniel Can Stand!!

Big Boy! He did it for the first time on Tuesday, just a couple seconds, but this evening he did it for a little longer!! Next week he will be 10 months old, so he's not as quick as Maria, who was only 8 1/2 months when she first stood. (Sorry, no pics -- we're cameraless right now.)

This has been a week of firsts, actually... Yesterday Daniel learned to clap his hands, and today was his first time in a big carseat. It was also the first time I found him asleep sitting up in bed, all folded over facefirst onto his legs - rather hard to describe but it looked cute! :) (but uncomfortable - don't worry, he wasn't like that for long.)

"Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples!
Shout to God with the voice of triumph!
For the Lord Most High is awesome;
He is a great King over all the earth."
Psalm 47:1-2

Before James

Baby James

Last night we took the kids to Maurice & Rachel's to see their cute new cousin, little James Theodore! He was born on Saturday evening, 8lbs 4oz, and is doing well.

"...'Out of the mouth of babies and nursing infants
You have perfected praise.' "
Matt. 21:16

The Three Amigos

Our Burning Bush

This was taken last week. November's wild winds have since stripped off all its leaves. :(

More Sayings

The boys were discussing Air at breakfast.
Timmy: "If you don't breathe air, you'll, like, starve.
Starve means you'll die."
Andrew: "Air makes you better. 'Moke (smoke) makes you sick."

Later this morning, they were together carrying around a big Rubbermaid tote, with the carseat in it. Andrew told me, "Mommy, us (pre)'tending us hab our glubs (gloves) on." They then went to get some gloves, and Timmy explained, "This carseat is naily. If we touch it with gloves on, we won't get poked." Andrew: "Myself gonna get poked." Finally, after much huffing, grunting, etc, he decided,
"Just pull it, Timmy."

Cute Sayings

In the spirit of Kenny's cute sayings, here are a few recent ones from Andrew.

After getting home from church on Sunday, Daniel was crying in his carseat. Andrew went right to him and said, "I here. Here's me. Us home!" Often Andrew's comfort works, & cheers Daniel right up. Daniel was in the playpen a couple days ago, complaining a bit, so Andrew asked, "Mommy, can I go in playpen with Baby? I be careful Baby. (In the playpen:) Hey, dis is nice! Here's me! You have 'nuff toys. You have toy already -- see! You have 'nuff toyses." Timmy, from the couch: "Andrew, not toyses, but TOYS." Andrew replied, "No, dese toyses!" (He tends to talk like Gollum - "drinkses, bookses, boyses, poopses..." - although we haven't read Tolkien to the kids yet.)

Yesterday, when Andrew saw me playing with Daniel, he wanted to play also. I told him he was too heavy to be lifted like that, and he said, "Me wanna go little again!"

At suppertime today, he said this to Timmy out of the blue:
"When us born, I born after you, Timmy."
