And now he's even standing!

Daniel just stood up in the playpen all by himself!
We watched him from the couch, quite surprised!

Daniel's up!

A couple days ago, Daniel learned to pull himself up to his knees!

Visiting...

Yesterday was fun! When we brought Emily home,
we had a little visit with Lisa & her daughters.

Country woman & city lady!

We then went on to pick up Maria, who had been having fun at Opa & Oma's house with Esther, Sarah, and Anneke for a couple days.
After lunch with Opa, we stayed the afternoon.

Putting his arm around Anna, Andrew called, "Look Mommy!"

Rachel & Tippet

Rabbits multiplying already?!

This morning, I went out to see our rabbits and guess what I found?

Somebody's lost little rabbit was visiting our pets!!
It was easy to catch him, so I popped him in a cage and we'll put up some signs to see if anyone claims him. A small, Dutch bunny, according to our rabbit books. We found out yesterday (from Benjamin, who was over with the young peoples at coffeehouse here) that Blizzard is a Netherland Dwarf -- the smallest of all rabbit breeds.

God provided the nice big bottom cage at a garage sale on Saturday (for just $15!) and the wooden hutch as well, for Blizzard on top.
On Saturday, Ralph made a wooden shelter to cover their cages.

Making friends!

Emily is over for a couple nights -- but not for all week as originally planned, b/c Lisa is not going to the conference anymore, just Herm (one of the chaperones for the YPs at Camp Tamerack this week) -- their 4-month old daughter Anna just caught a cold. :(

Our Firemen

Blizzard & Tippit

We got two rabbits this week! --our first pets, if you don't count the two goldfish we had a couple years ago.
Blizzard (held by Marguerite) is a dwarf rabbit, which we bought from Benjamin S.

And Tippit we got from the Vogels,
as a birthday present for Rachel (who turned 9 on Tuesday!)

Petting Zoo at Holland Christian Homes

We met Beppe there this afternoon, and we all loved it!
(Josh & Kenny were able to be there too, thanks to Opa & Oma.)

Our Concord Grapes

"I am the true vine,
and My Father is the vinedresser...
Abide in Me, and I in you.
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself,
unless it abides is the vine,
neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
I am the vine, you are the branches.
He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit;
for without Me you can do nothing."
John 15: 1,4,5

More From Friday's Storm

This is Finch Ave!

That happened in an hour or so -- now imagine this:
"Now the flood was upon the earth forty days...
The waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth,
and all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered."
Gen 7:17a,19

Trip to the Park

Fire and Rescue Competition at the Park

On Friday we had more rain in a few hours
than we normally get in the whole month of August.

Kruisselbrink Sisters

Last Friday the kids & I enjoyed an inspiring concert at Holland Christian Homes, by the Kruisselbrink Sisters.

Amazing piano & organ duet

And on a different note -- we had a great time with Brian & Liz & their family on Sunday afternoon. Cute bunny!

Our youngest rascal!

Yesterday, Daniel learned to get up into a sitting position by himself! The only trouble is, he refused to lay down & sleep at naptime this morning. Just kept sitting up & blowing bubbles...
The other thing he learned yesterday was how to crawl!
He could creep around already, but now he can crawl a few feet before he flops down again.

"Me water plants!"

The boys had to be my big helpers yesterday,
since their sisters are with the cousins for a couple days!
By the way, Andrew's potty-training is going well --
we began two weeks ago and he's dry day & night already!
(but once or twice a day he doesn't quite make it there on time.)

"Me sleeping 'side Timmy."
Andrew seldom naps anymore, but yesterday he cozily drifted off in front of the computer.

Hostas in our garden -- what a fragrance!

Girls' Birthday Party!

At Oma's house yesterday, we celebrated everyone's birthdays...

Thanks for the scrumptious cake, Mom!
Look at how much they loved it!
