The silversmith also showed us how the bellows work.
Ralph's grandfather & great-grandfather used to be blacksmiths,
so this trade was especially fascinating.
And since my Opa was a carpenter, the wheelmaker's shop
brought back good memories!

Brett & Wendy had invited us to drop in for lunch that day, so we brought some sandwich ingredients along & enjoyed a meal with them. Andrew had been dragging himself along all morning with a fever & headache, so they kindly offered to let him sleep there while we continued our wanders. He slept for almost 3 hours ( I checked up on him once), until we were ready to go back to the condo (where he threw up & then slept the rest of the day!) Thankfully no one else got sick the whole trip,
except for Daniel on our way back on Saturday.

The Magazine was built in 1715 to protect
the arms, gunpowder, and ammunition of the colony.
(My kids like hearing the gunshot when they
click the Magazine in "Tour the Town.")
We visited the shoemaker's shop in the afternoon, when Brett was demonstrating his work. You can't get him out of character! He has many neat opportunities to talk with people about politics & religion.
Last, a mock trial in the county courthouse.

Great pictures! Since we didn't pay to get a tour I haven't been in all the buildings so its nice to see your pictures. We could only go in select ones but one day I'd love to do the grand tour! Thanks for posting so many!!
