Changes!

before...
during...
after!
Isn't it much more open now?!
Thanks for all your help, Kevin!
Last Saturday, Ralph & Damian (with the boys' help) took out the last piece & framed the new doorway, which is now very wide.
The boys enjoyed helping to take off the trim!
and Timmy pulled out most of the nails.
Damian & Margarita made some delicious tarator for lunch... Thanks!
Tarator (a tasty cold cucumber soup) is a traditional Bulgarian meal (Louise says they ate it there at least every other day.) This is what the kitchen looks like now...
As you can see, the Lord recently provided us with a beautiful pedestal table from the Bibles for Missions store nearby! We've been looking for one, because Ralph is planning to build a corner bench for our kitchen this year. (First he has to do some more urgent things!)

Aren't these Bibles for Missions stores a great idea? This one near us raised over $100 000 last year -- incredible! To God be the glory! Listen to this, from their website:

Bibles for Missions Thrift Centers have raised money to provide thousands of Bibles for people in Mexico, Bulgaria, Colombia, China, Ukraine, Kenya, the Philippines, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Ecuador.

...the money received from the sale of these donated goods is used to bring the precious and powerful Word of God to people who have never heard this vital message.

There are presently 13 Thrift Centers in operation in the United States. The first Center opened in Holland, Michigan at the end of 1992. Since then, over $13 million has been raised for Bible League Scripture placement.

I don't know how many stores they have in Canada...
do any of you have one close by?

Hi Sharon, this is Jennifer Westendorp. We have a BFM here in our town where we live. Not sure how much money has been raised, but it has been around for almost 1 year now I think. A very good way to raise money for Bibles!
I love checking out your blog! :0)

Thanks for the encouragement -- glad you enjoy our blog! I can't remember what your blog's name is, Jennifer -- maybe you could let me know. Haven't seen you guys in ages!
So there are at least 3 stores in Canada -- must be more, though...

There's one by me too, Sharon... though I do more donating of my unwanted stuff, than buying!
